A Detailed Look At The Negatives Of VigRX Plus

VigRX Plus

On the surface, VigRX Plus may seem like the best choice for an over-the-counter male enhancement pill, given the many positive reviews about it online. But, is it really that good, or is there a hidden driving force behind all those rave reviews?

There are hardly any negative reviews of VigRX Plus that it seems too good to be true. So, I have done some research and dug deeper into it, and in this article I'm going to point out the downsides of this male dietary supplement. That doesn't mean it has no upsides, but I'm sure you've heard a lot about that already!

1. It is under-dosed.

Although the formula packs several of the most popular herbal remedies for male sexual enhancement, most of the ingredients are at the minimum effective dosage, and some are way under-dosed. For example;

  • The effective dosage of epimedium extract seems to be 500-1000mg, while you only get a trace amount of 30mg per VigRX Plus serving. That has almost no effect!
  • The recommended dosage of muira puama extract ranges from 1000mg to 1500mg, but you get as little as 100mg per serving.
  • Tribulus terrestris effective dose is in the 200-450mg range, which is considerably higher than the 150mg in this supplement.

This is actually a problem with pretty much all brand multi-herbal formulas. One common justification is that when combined together, the ingredients work synergically resulting in a greater effect than when used alone, so you'll need a lower dosage of each ingredient. But there is no scientific evidence to support this claim, at least not for this blend of ingredients.

The following is the complete list of active ingredients in VigRX Plus alongside the dosage of each ingredient per serving (2 tablets):

  • Bioperine (10mg)
  • Catuaba (100mg)
  • Cuscuta (50mg)
  • Damiana (200mg)
  • Epimedium (Horny Goat Weed) (30mg)
  • Gingko Biloba (200mg)
  • Hawthorn (200mg)
  • Korean Red Ginseng (200mg)
  • Muira Puama (100mg)
  • Saw Palmetto (200mg)
  • Tribulus Terrestris (150mg)

2. It just may not work at all!

It is a known and accepted fact that herbal dietary supplements don't work for everyone, but with the rather low dose of ingredients in VigRX Plus, the chance is higher that it may have no effect on you.

There are also many individual factors that may reduce the effectiveness of the supplement, such as obesity, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, health conditions, etc.

Taking the dose on an empty stomach or with a light meal delivers best results. Avoid taking it on a full stomach as it will likely be a waste.

If 2 tablets a day don't work for you, it is ok to increase the dose to 4 tablets a day, which is the maximum safe dose according to the label. Still, results will vary for each consumer and it just may not be the right supplement for you.

3. May have some side effects.

Although marketed as 100% natural and safe, some users may experience minor side effects when taking this supplement. Under normal circumstances, VigRX Plus does not have any noticeable side effects, but since every individual responds differently to the ingredients, some of the following side effects may arise:

  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Insomnia
  • Nausea

One of the ingredients that may cause problems for some users is gingko biloba. This dietary supplement is widely used to reduce anxiety and improve mental function, and also used to improve sexual performance.

Gingko improves blood flow to the brain and other parts of the body, but for certain users that comes at a cost, namely headaches and dizziness. Gingko also interacts with Ibuprofen and anti-clotting drugs, so if you take any of those you should talk to your doctor first.

4. Not allowed over the counter in some countries.

All of the 11 active ingredients are approved for use in dietary supplements by the FDA in the US and most other countries. However, in the following countries, some of the ingredients are prescription-only and thus are not legal in OTC supplements:

  • Ireland: Gingko biloba and tribulus terrestris.
  • Japan: Damiana and epimedium.
  • South Korea: Muira puama.

5. It is over-priced.

One common disadvantage of brand formulas is that the price is usually marked up, and VigRX Plus is no exception.

A 60-tablet box costs $76.99 (plus shipping fee). That's really expensive considering the low dose you get per tablet.

6. It doesn't make you bigger.

The biggest lie about this product is that it will somehow increase your penis size. I have seen some "real reviews" claiming it adds 3-4 inches to your erection. That is absolutely not true! It will not make your penis grow and it has no permanent effect on penis size.

This is simply an herbal aphrodisiac that can improve your libido and stamina. Now, with increased sex drive, you may notice a slight improvement in erection hardness and fullness as a result of better stimulation and circulation.

In other words, VigRX Plus may only help you get the maximum erect size you can naturally achieve, but it will not increase your size any further. So, if you are already able to achieve a full and strong erection, you won't notice any difference after taking the pill.

Any before/after pictures showing an increase in penis size as a result of VigRX Plus are 100% dishonest and intended to scam credulous consumers who are looking for a miracle penis enlargement pill!

7. Hyped up by online marketers.

Alright, then why is it that almost every review of this product you could find online is highly positive and confirmative about its wonderful results? Well, because those aren't really true consumer reviews, but rather well-paid affiliates trying to cash in on one of the most lucrative niches!

There are thousands of affiliate-created reviews out there, and while some of them are genuine and fair, most are just intended to convince you to buy even if that means lying to your face about what results to expect.

Not much shame in this industry, so don't be the sucker who buys those 3+ inches stories!

In VigRX Plus's defense, the claims on their official website sound more reasonable, and there is no claim that it will increase your penis size. It is their affiliates and resellers who are spreading fake reviews and promises. But still, VigRX Plus have the responsibility to protect the reputation of their brand and take action against such false advertising.

8. There are more affordable alternatives.

There is nothing special about VigRX Plus that makes it effective where other similar supplements fail. In fact, there are many male enhancement supplements on the market with similar ingredients, higher dosage and/or lower price.

If you are not willing to fork out such premium price on a brand-name supplement that may/may not work, then you can save a considerable amount of money by buying the ingredients each on its own from generic suppliers. This way you can find out which specific ingredients work best for you and stick with those.

You can easily find the ingredients used in VigRX Plus at many stores like GNC, Walmart, CVS, Amazon, and others.

My final take on VigRX Plus:

Well, all in all, in my opinion VigRX Plus is worth giving a try. It may not be as impressive as many fabricated (sales letter) reviews suggest, but it is a legit product with some good ingredients that can help improve your libido, stamina and erection quality.

Compared to other brands in this category, each of which also has its own list of pros and cons, I'd say that VigRX Plus is among the best male enhancement supplements. Nevertheless, it may not benefit everyone.

If you have extra money to spend then go ahead and give it a try, otherwise, there are cheaper generic alternatives.

Note: Some counterfeit versions of this product are being sold on Amazon, eBay and other websites. You can buy authentic VigRX Plus directly from the manufacturer's official website.
